The primordial Shadow Monarch and the former greatest warrior among the Rulers. Betrayed by his brethren and reawakened with dominion over death, Ashborn created the Shadow Army. Weary of endless cosmic conflict, he sought a mortal successor worthy of inheriting his boundless power—choosing Sung Jin-woo.
Origin & Backstory
Created by the Absolute Being at the dawn of the universe as the 'Greatest Fragment of Brilliant Light', Ashborn was the supreme champion of the celestial Rulers. When the other Rulers rebelled against the Absolute Being upon discovering the war was merely entertainment for their creator, Ashborn remained the sole loyalist, fighting desperately against his celestial siblings.
Power Awakening & Progression
Slain during the heavenly rebellion, Ashborn discovered the Absolute Being had hidden a primordial darkness inside him. Reborn as the Monarch of Shadows, he commanded the souls of the fallen, turning the tides of cosmic war before withdrawing into the dimensional rift. Recognizing humanity's vulnerability to the coming Monarch invasion, he collaborated with the Architect to engineer the System, searching for a human vessel strong enough to endure his infinite power.
Combat Arsenal & Signature Abilities
Absolute dominion over death and cosmic mana. Wields pitch-black broadswords, celestial black wings, and command over an infinite legion of primordial shadows. His presence commands total obedience from souls, and his mana density surpasses all other Monarchs combined.
Primordial Shadow Extraction
Extracts an infinite number of souls with zero mana cost or rank limitations.
Black Heart
A cosmic mana core granting an inexhaustible mana pool of 100,000+ points.
Monarch's Authority
Absolute telekinetic manipulation capable of shifting celestial bodies.

Cleaves through dimensional barriers to open massive interstellar super-gates.
Role in the Sovereign War & Legacy
Rather than subsuming Jin-woo's consciousness, Ashborn surrendered his black heart and cosmic mantle completely to the young hunter, choosing eternal peace and trusting Jin-woo to protect Earth and end the war of gods.
